Day 11
Had a nice night's sleep, not too cold. Rained some last night and was cloudy when we departed Carmacks.  We did get a little earlier start, wanted to get to Dawson City and see if we could find a part for the hot water heater and also have time to look around. We continued on the Klondike Highway, which mainly followed the Yukon River and the Stewart River.  One of the pictures we show is of a valley in which they did a massive gold dig.  You can see in the pictures the reddish brown areas where all the sludge was.  The sights are just beautiful again.  Fall is truly beginning in this region.  I have talked to a few other Rv’ers and they keep assuring me we should have no problem with snow, except in the high elevations, especially going back through the Yukon area.  We toured by foot downtown Dawson City and it is as rustic as you can get. We also included a picture of the gold rush 1898. Hard to imagine the living conditions.  This camp owner shuts down on the 15th of September.   Told us it can get down to 60 below here. Now that’s cold!  The warmest we got today was 62.  So eat your heart out in sweltering Texas and elsewhere.

ANDY’S REPORT
Had a good night's sleep.  The peeps wanted to leave early, but they are so old and slow, still did not get the moving house going till 9am.  It rained last night and was raining most of the morning.  Peeps did not stop anywhere for some snacks, but drove on and on till we finally stopped by some moving water.  No grass to smell, so I did not enjoy that stop too much. Back in the moving house and again we stopped at some moving water, not too much fun here either.  Got to some town with a whole lot of moving houses.  Dad parked ours and we finally got to the good stuff...dinner.  The peeps left me to guard our moving house. I don’t think I did a very good job. There was way too much banging and clanging so I just went to sleep on the floor.  The peeps started their obsession with those lighted boxes again, so I just laid out and waited for bedtime.  Goodnight!
I'm not being much of a guard dog!

Is it time for a walk yet?

The scenery is spectacular ... I LOVE the fall time of year. Definitely my favourite time of year to travel.
