Day 28

Exciting but sad day. Sad leaving Canada/Alaska and headed back to the lower 48.  Excited about seeing the kids and our grandson.  We got up and tried to get a little early start. Continued on Hwy 1 the  Gold Rush Trail.  Drove for about 30 minutes and stopped at Hell’s Gate—the narrowest point of the gorge that runs with the Fraser River. View was spectacular.  Went on down the Hwy a little farther and visited the old Alexandra Bridge built in 1926, a one lane steel suspension bridge.  Pretty neat!  From it, you could see the new Alexandra Bridge built in 1964.  Additionally, there were many tunnels on the Hwy and on the two train tracks that run alongside the river.  Continued our drive till we got to Hope, BC. Stopped a very short time at Minter Gardens and then ran across the Hwy to Bridal Falls.  Both stops were very worthwhile.  Called it quits for looking and headed across the border.  Went back into the lower 48 at Sumas, Washington had to wait in line nearly an hour. Then got stuck in traffic on I-5 in Seattle and finally made it to Jamie and Eric’s house around 4:30pm.  Our little grandson Bacchus seemed to remember us.  His mom said he has been very shy lately and had warned us not to be surprised if he didn’t pay attention to us so we were thrilled that he was not shy at all.  We then went out to eat pizza—one of Bacchus’ favorites!! Drove over to our new campground and called it a night.

ANDY’S REPORT
The peeps got me up and off we went.  Stopped at some place and they took me for a long walk.  Walked to some trail with a big round thing on the path that got a woof from me. Then the trail went over moving water.  I could not walk on it so the peeps took turns walking out in the middle and looking around.  I loved the long walk and even galloped a little, but I was glad when we got back. These new roads are nice and smooth, makes taking a napper easier.  Stopped a few more times and the peeps finally got some goodies to eat.  Mom kept complaining since they did not have the mermaid lady at this place.  Drove and stopped a few more times. Got stuck with a lot of other moving houses. Went crazy woofing at a big grey thing while we were waiting. Had to protect the peeps. Got stuck again a little while later. Made me eat dinner while we were going down the road. Did not care--hungry boy! We then stopped and to my big surprise the red headed devil girl comes out of a house.  She likes me, but will not ever give me any snackers.  My old friend Alli dog was there.  Had not seen her in a long time.  The little man was also there. He was talking up a storm, could not understand a word he said.  The peeps just love it with all his talking and such.  Oh, well, I can never quite figure them out all the time.  They went off walking with the little man in a cart. Came back and mom sneaked me some pizza, yummy. They finally came out we drove over to the lot with lots of moving houses.  I got a bone and then went to bed. Goodnight.
Come on, it's only a short distance to the movie house!

Woof! Woof! What is this big thing?

Hey how about me...can I go on the bridge?

Woof! Woof! Must protect the peeps from that huge grey thing!

The huge grey thing!

Oh no! Not the red-haired devil girl!
