Day 23

Got off to pretty good start today.  I got the RV ready while Donna downloaded the two days previous blogs.  Headed out to Whitehorse. Drove over to the fish dam on the Yukon.  The fish ladder is about 300 yards long.  About a 100 yards to the viewing platform, then 150 to 200 over the dam. Pretty neat. Took some more pictures of Whitehorse then headed out on the Alaska Hwy. We then took Klondike Hwy towards Skagway, Alaska. At Carcross, Canada we took pictures of Emerald Lake aka Rainbow Lake. The sun was behind some clouds, so the pictures do not do it justice. It was still amazing.  Continued towards Skagway.  About 40 miles from Skagway the scenery changed  dramatically.  They call it a moonscape landscape because of the trees and rocks. Entered back into the US, then into Skagway. Went by the harbor saw one cruise ship.  Went downtown to the Klondike museum. Very interesting. They had pictures of the miners climbing the Chilkoot Trail to get to the river to boat or raft to Dawson City.  These must have been some very hardy men and women to do this. Got sandwiches at Lemon Rose Bakery. The lady makes her own bread—delicious! Hit the road. Drove back up to Carcross, Canada and then took the Tagish Hwy back to the Alaska Hwy and headed for Telsin. We stopped in Telsin on Labor Day coming up to Alaska and plan to compare some of the pictures later for differences. Will post later.  Plan tomorrow to continue south.  Finally got about 60 degrees for the first time in two weeks.  Feels like summer here. Hee hee!

ANDY’S REPORT.
Got up with Dad and took a walk, then Dad and I got the moving house ready to roll.  We drove for about 15 minutes, then I got put on guard duty. Now I know why, the peeps showed up with the mermaid lady and some sandwiches.  Drove around for a while and off we went.  Made a pit stop at some weird looking water place.  Not sure if I would drink that water, it was dark green and dark blue.  Drove again, stopped at some place with lots of houses and water that went forever.  Back to guard duty and of course, nap time.  Peeps came with a bag of sandwiches. I got a few nibbles.  We then drove and stopped a few times. Arrived at the lot with moving houses. Dad took me for a walk and guess what, I could smell the same smells again.  And to top that off, much warmer here. Hmmmm not sure, but could we headed somewhere warm?  Ready for bed. Goodnight.
Green water-- not worth drinking!

 Hold on Mom! We're coming!!

I'm done!
